Abstract:
Adolescents of Canada have faced many challenges and risks to physical and mental health without adult guard, especially those in rural areas and low-income families. To meet the challenges, Ontario has witnessed a great progress of the after-school programs to be launched from non-government-led institutions to government-directed, school district-run and third-party agencies, accumulating abundant experiences to solve the“three-and-a-half-o’clock predicament”. This provides good implications for China to establish a comprehensive after-school service system guided by the governments to ensure all children to be guarded with high-quality after-school services
