摘要:
农村教育是提升农村人力资本和农民收入的有效途径。本文以中国十省百村的大规模调研数据为基础,探讨农村教育和农民收入之间的关系。实证结果表明:农村教育存在着显著的正外部效应:农民个人收入不仅受到农民自身受教育水平的影响,还受到农民所处群体受教育水平的正向影响。进一步研究发现,当农民受教育水平为小学、初中或高中时,农村教育的外部效应最显著,而当农民受教育水平为小学以下、大学及以上时,农村教育的外部效应并不显著。
Abstract:
Rural education is an important path to improving human capital and farmers’ income in the rural areas. This paper conducted a large-scale survey in 100 sampled villages of 10 provinces to explore the intrinsic relationships between rural education and farmers’ income in China. The results showed that there were significant positive external effects of rural education as farmers’ income were affected not only by their own educational level, but also by their neighborhood community’s educational level. Furthermore, the education’s external effect was most significant when farmers’ education came to primary, junior middle, or senior level while being not significant when they were illiterate or college-educated
