摘要:
依据历史脉络、动因、参与者主体与活动四项本土的概念维度,马来西亚高等教育国际化概念的基本内涵与特质得以厘清:第一,英国殖民遗产与国内族群政治奠定了马来西亚高等教育国际化的客观环境;第二,向亚太地区高等教育中心国家的转型是马来西亚高等教育国际化的根本价值取向;第三,私立高校与联邦政府是马来西亚高等教育国际化的主要参与者;第四,跨境教育是马来西亚高等教育国际化活动的主要形式,整合性国际化是其基本的向度。
Abstract:
This paper considers the implications and properties of Malaysia’s globalization of higher education from the perspectives of historical evolution, motivation, participants and activities. It suggests that 1) British colonial heritage and domestic tribal politics has created the objective environment of the internationalization of higher education; 2) it is oriented to develop a higher education hub in the Asia-pacific region; 3) private higher learning institutions and Malaysia’s federal government are the main participants; and 4) cross-border education is the major globalized form to integrate into its higher education
